Leader of youth darts in Ireland
JDC Ireland

Welcome to our weekly report on the future of darts in Ireland.

This week saw JDC Ireland entering week 3 of season 2 of The Junior Darts Corporation grading, a grading process that leads to the 2019 World Championship & World Cup qualification to be held on the island of Gibraltar in September 2019.

JDC Ireland mentor
Brian Doherty

We started off this week by welcoming back JDC Ireland mentor Brian Doherty from his recent health scare, and I am pleased to announce that Brian is making a very speedy recovery...we all here at JDC Ireland are delighted to have brian back with us as we continue our pursuit for the first ever Darts world champion from the island of Ireland.

To guage the enormity of this score from a 16 year old, pictured on the right are the Official pro players JDC challenge scores...And that puts Keane in 3rd place...Wow.

Our star player this week is Sean McKeon who recorded his best ever JDC score ; a very impressive 814, Well done Sean.

And now on to the rest of our results...

Katie Sheldon - 1267

Nice to see Katie back scoring high and registering her highest score this season so far.

Sean Cummins - 1097

Just goes to show the level that The 2018 JDC European Open runner up is playing at now when a dip in form results in a score of over a 1000.

Killian Heffernan - 980.

The 2018 JDC World championship semi finalist is another player with a little bit of dip in form that i'm sure along with Sean will rectify itself in due course.

Jamie Lee cummins - 929

A fantastic score from Jamie Lee; his highest score this season so far, and a player who is rapidly climbing the JDC academy order of merit.

Pearse Mackle - 757

New boy Pearse is only 3 weeks with us and already making quite a name for himself, not quite up to his great score on his first week of 1036 but if he keeps pushing himself the way he is he will get back to that coveted 1000 points mark.

Steven Coroner -489

Steven is steadily getting back to the form we are accustomed to seeing on a weekly basis with us.

Ethan Wills - 432

A very impressive score from Ethan, only 22 points off his season 2 best so far.

Scott Doyle -374

The baby of JDC Ireland hits his highest score so far this season...This young man is really one for the future, great attitude for such a young man.

Ben Fitzpatrick - 348

Again a personal best for this season and that's with missing last weeks grading, amazing stuff from Ben.

What that means in terms of qualification for the 2019 JDC World Championship is we have 4 players in the automatic qualification position as from the time of this post.
