Ireland dominate JDC academy OOM

JDC Ireland

JDC Ireland have dominated the 2019 Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) worldwide academy order of merit with 4 players finishing in the top 10 world championship qualifying spots out of 302 players.

Keane Barry

Meath's Keane Barry has finished top for the 2nd year in a row with a hugely respectable score of 34179.

Keane's score is 6499 points ahead of his nearest rival fellow JDC Ireland member Wicklow's Sean Cummins.

Over the space of the three seasons in 2019; twenty four weeks in total that gives Keane a total average of 1487 which is phenomenal for the 16 year old who played 1 week less than the other players.

2019 final JDC academy order of merit

Here at JDC Ireland we are very proud to have four players finish inside the top ten.

Along with Keane and Sean in the two top places we also have Kildare's Killian Heffernan in third place and Dublin's Katie Sheldon the only lady dart player in the top 10 coming in at number five.

Truly remarkable achievement for these outstanding Junior Dart players from our little Island.

2019 JDC World Championship Order of Merit 17 - 32

As we move further down the JDC order of merit, Wicklow's Jamie Lee Cummins finished in 17th, Dublin's Steven Coroner in 27th, Cavan's Pearse Mackle 29th, and only competed in 17 weeks of the 24 and Dublin's Ethan Wills in 32nd.

And to conclude JDC Ireland's players position we have Dublin's Sean McKeon in 64th, while missing 7 weeks due to injury, Galway's Dylan Dowling in 69th, with only 11 weeks of the 24 completed this is remarkable from Dylan, Dublin's Scott Doyle in 137th with 11 weeks less than everybody else due to suffering from the dreaded Dartitus, and Wicklow's Ben Fitzpatrick in 170th who played 13 weeks less than the rest.

JDC Ireland are very proud of the fact we had 12 players on the 2019 JDC World championship academy order of merit which comprises 302 players worldwide and all our players finished in the top 170 with 4 in the top 10 and the top 3 places are all JDC Ireland players.

So we have 9 players in total that will travel to Gibraltar in September to represent Ireland at The 2019 JDC World Cup / International Open & World Championships.

Next up for JDC Ireland is the "Super 16" another weekly qualifying tournament that will run for the next 2 seasons ie 16 weeks where the top 8 on the new JDC super 16 academy order of merit will meet the top 8 from the UK tour order of merit in a finals tournament in Wolverhampton UK in December 2019 which will be played down to the final and that final will be played on stage at the PDC World Masters in Milton Keynes UK in 2020.

These weekly qualifying tournaments will take place every Tuesday 7 pm at our headquarters in The Roadstone Group Sports Club Tallaght, Dublin and are open to everyone aged 10 - 17.

The first "Super 16" qualifier is on Tuesday June 25th.

And added to the qualifiers you can also take place in weekly 501 tournaments that have some amazing prizes at the end of the year.

Thank you as always to our very supportive partners, without you none of this would be possible.

Thank you to Go Darts Pro for the great work they do on the app all JDC academies worldwide use as we input live scores as they happen and for the permission to use their data on our website.

And last but not least thank you to the Junior Darts Corporation for giving Ireland's junior darts players this fantastic opportunity to showcase their amazing talent on the world stage.
